BTV Multimedia Group, a company under the umbrella of private equity firm Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG), is consistently pursuing its growth strategy. In order to successfully continue this solid and sustainable path it was decided to introduce DKT A/S into BTV Multimedia. The corporate group bundles the activities of renowned service providers, distributors and manufacturers from the broadband communications industry like ANEDiS and braun teleCom. BTV Multimedia is one of the leading value added suppliers in the market.

DKT A/S has stood for continuity and competence since 1977. With a clear focus on quality, commitment and high flexibility, combined with engineering expertise and practical product solutions DKT has successfully established new benchmarks in its home markets Denmark and Scandinavia. In large parts of Europe, too, the company has developed into a renowned supplier of systems and system components for broadband networks.

The integration of DKT into the group results in a large enhancement of the company’s portfolio, especially with products of braun teleCom: The German manufacturer provides everything needed to set up, upgrade and operate broadband infrastructures. With its long experience and constantly growing know-how, the company has become a leading supplier of systems and system components for multimedia cable TV networks. Further to its traditional CATV product line, consisting of active and passive components, braun teleCom has continually expanded its range by integrating sophisticated optical system technologies into the portfolio.

“The ambition is to create a partner for the operators in Europe with the very strongest product mix and expertise and thereby contribute to a better business case in the vast investments in broadband networks which is so necessary for the European community,” says Group CEO Dr. Christoph Klein.

“As a Scandinavian frontrunner we feel obliged to contribute wherever we can. For many years we have invested heavily in R&D and developed innovative solutions which result in improved network performance and end-user satisfaction. Standing shoulder to shoulder in this family we will be able to make an even stronger impact in improving the broadband infrastructure in Europe,” says DKT CEO Christian Emborg.

“The market in which these companies operate is driven by rising demand for faster internet connections from consumers, which requires existing networks to be upgraded or rebuilt,” says To-sten Grede, Spokesman of the Board of Management of DBAG, outlining the attractive market environment for this investment. “This also includes the trend towards high-performing fibre-optic connections, including in the home. The level of complexity is increasing – and this will continue to drive the demand for products and for corresponding services.”
